Practice Policy
Deposit and Cancellation Policy:
When an appointment is scheduled for you, that time is specifically set aside for your care. If missed, it cannot be used to treat other patients. Please respect the doctor’s time by providing adequate notice if you need to reschedule, allowing us the opportunity to reallocate that time to other patients on our long waiting list. Cancellations made less than two business days in advance or no-shows will result in the forfeiture of your deposit, as the clinic may not be able to offer that time slot to someone else.
Private Patients:
A GP referral is required to book an appointment. A 50% deposit is required at booking (for both initial and follow-up appointments) and will go towards your appointment fee.
For Telehealth consultations, full payment is required to secure your appointment. This payment is refundable if you cancel or reschedule with at least 2 business days’ notice; otherwise, the deposit will be forfeited.
Cancellations and No Shows:
Patients with two late cancellations or no-shows will be required to prepay the full consultation fee for all future appointments.
Late Arrival Policy:
To ensure timely care for all patients, appointments may be shortened or missed for late arrivals. If you’re less than 15 minutes late, your appointment will be shortened and charged in full. If you’re more than 15 minutes late, the appointment will be considered a “no-show” and the full fee will be charged.
We recommend arriving or preparing for Telehealth 10 minutes before your appointment.
Doctor Communication Policy:
To minimise disruptions, patient calls will not be forwarded to doctors during appointments. For inquiries about medications, symptoms, prescriptions, or medical documents, please book an appointment, as doctors cannot address these via phone or email. Contact us at 5408 0900 or admin@coastaldigestivehealth.com.au.
For emergencies, call 000 or visit your local Emergency Department.
Repeat Prescriptions:
Patients should ensure they request repeat prescriptions during their appointment. Medicare does not cover prescription-only services, so it’s best to have a review with your clinician beforehand. A fee of $50.00 applies for prescription-only requests outside of your appointment.
Zero Tolerance Policy:
We request that patients treat our reception and clinical staff with courtesy and respect. Any abusive, aggressive, or threatening behaviour will not be tolerated and may result in termination of the call, asking the patient to leave, or involving the police.
